《The Puppy Plan》宠物计划
大朋友们有多少人会允许孩子养一只小宠物？我女儿曾经买过两只小仓鼠，爱得不得了，成天拿着仓鼠笼子，跑去同学家一起玩。可是突然有一天，我闻到房子里面臭得不行。原来是仓鼠死掉一只，而且只剩下半个身子。恶...... 孩子只知道小动物好玩，没有及时喂养，结果弄成了互相残杀的血腥场面。
今天的绘本，通过本和麦龙养狗的故事，告诉孩子爱动物的同时也要训练动物，是爱，也是责任。
Ben and Mike looked out the frount window. They were waiting for Dad to come home with their new puppy. At last they sawe Dad's car coming up the street.
本和麦克焦急地向窗外张望着。他们在等着爸爸带着他们的小狗回家。最后爸爸的车子终于沿街开了过来。
Ben and Mike ran to Dad. Dad was holding a tiny brown puppy in his hands."Look how small the puppy is!" said Ben. "She's so tiny," said Mike.
本和麦克跑出来迎接爸爸。爸爸的手里拿着一只小小的棕色的小狗狗。“看哪，多小的一只小狗狗呀！”本说。“是啊，她可真是小小的一只。”麦克也这样觉得。
"What will you name the puppy?" asked Dad.
爸爸问“你们准备给小狗狗起什么名字？”
"Let's call her lzzy," said Mike. "Welcome home, lzzy!" said Ben.
“我们叫她丽兹吧。”麦克想这样叫它。“欢迎你回答丽兹。”本说
Dad, Ben and Mike brought lzzy inside. Mom came down to meet the new puppy.
爸爸，本和麦克带着丽兹回了家。妈妈也来看这个家里的新成员小狗狗。
"Mom, this is lzzy," said Mike. He handed the puppy to his mom. lzzy started licking Mom's cheek.
“妈妈，这是丽兹。”麦克积极地给妈妈介绍着。他把小狗狗递给妈妈，丽兹开心地舔着妈妈的脸颊。
"Taking care of lzzy is your job now," Mom said.
“照顾丽兹以后就是你们的工作了。”妈妈说
"We know," said Ben.
“我们知道了。”本很有信心地回答。
"It will be fun.We will feed her and take her for walks," said Mike.
“肯定会很有趣的。我们会喂它吃东西然后带她去散步。”麦克也很有信心。
"She's so tiny!" said Ben.
“她实在是太小了。”本说
"It will be easy." Mom looked at Dad.
“不是什么困难的工作，很容易的。”妈妈看着爸爸说。
"We'll see," she said.
“我们走着瞧吧。”
The next day Ben and Mike went down for breakfast. When they saw the living room, they froze.
第二天，本和麦克走出房间去吃早餐，当他们看到客厅里的状况的时候，他们惊呆了。
"Oh no!" they yelled. Ben and Mike looked around the room. It was a mess! And in the middle of the mess was lzzy.
“噢天哪！”他们叫喊着。本和麦克环顾着房间。简单是一团糟。而丽兹正坐在一堆垃圾的正中间。
"lzzy, what did you do?" cried Mike. lzzy just wagged her tail.
“丽兹，你都干了什么？”麦克要哭了。而丽兹只是摇摆着它的尾巴。
"Let's clean this up before Mom and Dad see it, " said Ben.
“我们得在爸爸妈妈看到这些之前把这里清理干净。”本说。
Just then, Mom and Dad walked into the room.
就在这个时候，妈妈和爸爸一起走直了房间。
"Look at this room!" Mom said. "What happened?"
“看看这个房间，发生了什么事？”妈妈很生气。
Ben and Mike pointed to lzzy. lzzy just wagged her tail.
本和麦克指了指丽兹。而丽兹还只是摇摆着它的尾巴。
"You should not have let her out," said Dad.
“你们就不应该让她出去。”爸爸说。
Just then lzzy started to run.
“然后丽兹就开始在房间里乱跑。”
"lzzy, sit," said Ben.
“丽兹，坐。”本命令着。
"lzzy, stay,"said Mike.
“丽兹，别动。”麦克也命令着。
But lzzy ran ovre to chew the couch.
但是丽兹根本不听而是跑动咬沙发。
"And you must teach her what not to do," said Mom.
“你们必须要教会她什么事不能做。”妈妈说
"We'll make a plan," said Mike.
“我们会做一个计划。”
"Yes," said Ben. "We'll call it the puppy plan."
“是的，我们管它叫小狗计划。”
The next day, Mike and Ben started the puppy plan. They told lzzy to sit, but lzzy rolled over. They told lzzy to stay, but she ran. They gave lzzy a chew toy, but she chewed on the couch.
第二天，麦克和本开始实施他们的小狗计划。他们教丽兹坐下，但是丽兹只会转圈圈。他们叫丽兹停下来，但是她只会瞎跑。他们给了丽兹一个啃咬玩具，但是她就只会咬沙发。
The next day, Mike and Ben worked on the puppy plan again. lzzy still wouldn't sit. lzzy still souldn't stay. And lzzy still tried to chew on the couch.
又过了一天，麦克和本继续他们的小狗计牙。丽兹仍然不会坐，丽兹仍然不会停下来。丽兹仍然只会咬沙发。
Mike and Ben worked on the puppy plan all week. lzzy still wouldn't sit. she wouldn't stay. And she still chewed on the couch.
麦克和本一整 个星期都在实施他们的小狗计划。丽兹仍然不会坐，她仍然不会停下来。她仍然只会咬沙发。
It was time to show Mom and Dad what lzzy could do. Mom said,"We can't wait to see!"
到了给爸爸妈妈展示他们训练成果的时间了。妈妈说“我们都等不及想要看你们的训练成果了。”
Mom and Dad sat on the couch. Ben crossed his fingers and said,"lzzy, sit!" lzzy looked up at Ben。
爸爸和妈妈坐在沙发上,本伸出他的手指对着丽兹命令道：“丽兹，坐！丽兹看着本。
And lzzy sat! "Good girl!" he said. And he gave lzzy a treat.
然后，坐了下来。“好样的，乖狗狗。”他给了丽兹一个小奖励。
Mike couldn't believe it. He gave lzzy a treat. "Good girl!" Mike said.
麦克不敢相信这是真的。他也给了丽兹一个奖励。“好样的，乖狗狗。”麦克说。
Then Ben picked up a chew toy. He held it out to lzzy. "Here, lzzy!" he said.
But lzzy didn't move.
然后本拿起了一个啃咬玩具。他把它拿给了丽兹。“这儿，丽兹！”但是丽兹一动不动。
"Here, lzzy!" Ben said again. lzzy went over to Ben. She took the toy and began to chew on it.
“这儿，丽兹！”本又说了一遍。丽兹走向本。她拿起玩具并且咬住了它。
"Wow!" said Mom. "Now lzzy can chew the toy and not the couch."
“哇哦！”妈妈很高兴。“现在丽兹会玩啃咬玩具而不是咬沙发了。”
"Great job, boys!" said Dad.
“孩子们干得不错。”爸爸
"It was fun, "said Mike."We just followed the puppy plan!"
“这相当有意思 ，我们只是按照我们的小狗狗计划实施的。”
